  25. Serpico rules! Not only is he a hero for protecting his handler/police officer in the line of duty, but he’s an AKC Canine Good Citizen! Serpico visits children in hospitals, sharing his love with disabled and ill little ones. Imagine how those kids feel meeting a dog that is also handi-capable! He’s a tough act to follow.

  26. What better dog than a Boxer!! What an amazing story and recovery GO ROCKY!!!

  27. ALL THE BEST SACHA !!!

  28. Go ROCKY!!!!!!!!!!!

  29. Go bean! :D

  30. Serpico is already a true life hero, having lost his leg when he was shot while working with his policeman partner. They took the whole shoulder, and yet this magnificent Rotti can run just as fast as he used to on four legs. His smile is big as the moon, and his eyes are deep with love, understanding and humor! Yes, he is a hero, and he deserves to be the star in this movie ~ I know that all of his three-legged competitors are wonderful, but Serpico is a hero who deserves to be noticed by the whole world as a true representative of dogged devotion and courage ~ A vote for Serpico is a vote from the heart!

    • Wow what a great story… encourage all your friends to vote for Serpico. He deserves to be a contender.

  31. Bean needs to win! If you take one look at Bean, you’d know that Bean is an incredible dog, with incredible abilities, and is very deserving of the movie role. Please vote for Bean!

    • Bean is slowly but surely moving up the ranks… If he can get 1000 votes he automatically qualifies!

  32. Serpico Rules!

  33. Tigger Tot is a late contender, but only because she was just adopted this month after waiting for months to find a forever family. Back in November she came into our home as a foster, something we regularly do, but it almost seemed that no one wanted to adopt a “handicapped” pup. Tigger never got the memo about being handicapped. She can run, jump, and wrestle with the best of them and has a happy-go-lucky attitude that just won’t quit.

Who adopted her? Her very own foster family, including a Great Pyrenees (rescue), a part American Eskimo Dog (rescue) and her favorite pack mate, a 13 yr old wolf who sadly passed away May 3 to an aggressive form of cancer.

Tigger Tot needs your vote, but more importantly she’d like for people to consider adopting “special needs” animals from shelters.

  34. Good Luck Horton – you should win!!

  35. has to be serpico, he’s got the look!

    • I agree 110% that it MUST be Serpico. I’ve met him at my annual Book ‘Em event and he has all the superb qualities of being a movie star. He has the look, the personality and the motivation to do well at any endeavor he tries, such as being in a movie.

  36. SERPICO
    SERPICO

  40. C’mon ROCKY! Regardless of the outcome, your are a true chanmp. xoxoxo Colleen

  50. Chopper Rocks and loves NKOTB!

    SoCal

  51. I voted for Seymour. He’s medium sized, has a hind limb missing, and that scruffy little face and those big brown eyes make him perfect for the role of Scrap.

  52. Lovely boy

  53. Show your heart and give Gromit a chance
This comes from oversea Belgium !!!

  54. When I last checked, my dog Wit’l was closing in fast on the competition with her 18 votes. For Wit’l it’s not about winning or losing a contest it’s about recognition of great three legged dogs! And these all look like great dogs. I wish I could meet each one of them. Everyone I tell about this site really enjoys seeing all these dogs. I personally find it interesting the the USA has the most entrants in the contest. Is it because we love our pets so much?

I work at an Emergency/Speciality Veterinary Hospital, which is how I found Wit’l. The local Humane Society had picked her up with her back leg so badly injured it couldn’t be saved. They brought her to the hospital. Where at six months of age she lost her back leg. But if these terrible events hadn’t happened to her I never would have found her (selfish of me huh?). She is a great dog and we just love her.

I hope everyone enjoys these dogs stories and pictures as much as i do.

  55. Olivia is the winner!

  56. Go Rocky!!! We are pulling for you!!! Steph, Scott, Joshua & Justin

  57. go rocky go!!!!!!

  58. There are all absolutely deserving for a vote. It’s a tuff one, but I must vote for Jaida.

  59. All dogs are brave and good and wonderful !!

  60. Go Bradley, I hope you win the role. You deserve it!!!!!! Good luck

  61. Audi is the sweetest dog ever! Her back leg was torn off when she was hit by a truck. She endured many surgeries as a result, and now is as good as ever. Nothing slows her down! Please vote for Audi!

  62. I voted for Jaida …..what a beautiful face.

She should at least be Scrap’s girlfriend.

  63. Rocky loves everybody, he is such a talker. Since he lost his leg he is like the Mayor of the neighborhood talking to everybody he meets. Vote for Rocky

  64. [...] [...]

  65. Yeah Bradley!!!

  66. As Maty’s human companions, we were surprised and honored that freekibble.com included Geoff’s voting site for Scrap in the trivia question. I’ve been watching the site visits, and freekibble has brought more positive exposure than any of the other ‘vote for’ campaigns that no one complained about.
We’re not sure why people think Maty is not a ’shelter’ dog. Maty’s entire life has been dedicated to animal welfare and demonstrating the abiities of disabled animals. Maty was abandoned in a motel and brought to the Humane Society of Central Oregon, nearly died from an infection that ravaged her body and destroyed her knee joint at 7 weeks of age. Maty’s leg was amputated at 7.5 weeks of age. Maty’s ‘parents’ have dedicated nearly 40 years to animal welfare. Maty is the humane education dog for our shelter and helps educate thousands of children and adults every year at schools and events. We spend money we should not on traveling to disc dog and fun competitions to demonstrate the abilities of disabled animals. Maty’s email is filled with people wanting to know about amputations and provides encouragement to people during a difficult decision. Maty is probably the only dog on this site who has volunteered her 8 years of life to helping other homeless animals and educating thousands. Maty has also worked in front of national network production crews. She can make Geoff’s directing job easy, she is calm, confident, dependable and very well trained.
Maty has demonstrated the abilities of disabled animals and has in turn allowed our shelter to quickly adopt these animals without them questioning the quality of life they can live.
Maty has been a supporter of freekibble.com from launch date a year ago. A little ad may not have been much, but it demonstrated support for a young girl (11 yrs at that time) wanting to help homeless animals and the organizations who save their lives. Mimi, the creator of freekibble.com knows Maty’s story and watches her WORK for the Humane Society nearly EVERY DAY of her life when she comes to the shelter to volunteer. Mimi and Maty have educated people of all ages in our community and the nation on adopting from shelters and doing something to help homeless animals. Freekibble.com makes it easy for anyone to help shelter animals with just a click of their mouse. Simple, easy step every day to help animals in need.
Please spend your energy supporting your local animal shelter by volunteering your time and talents, or simply click on freekibble.com and help feed more homeless animals across the nation.
We invite you to watch Maty’s video on this site and links on tripawed.com., or simply ‘google’ Maty disc dog.

  67. All the dogs are special and should get a cameo appearance to show 3 legged dogs are lovable as well as 4 legged.

  68. OMGosh….I had a couple of dogs picked out that I was thinking about voting for but when I saw Jellybean – - that FACE – - THOSE EYES – - I knew Jellybean was THE one! (All the dogs are precious, but Jellybeam just stole my heart!) Good luck Jelly!!!!

  69. Where can we view their pictures?

  70. I voted for Maty not because of Freekibble because she reminds me of my Lucy the wonderdog who at 9 had an 8 1/2 pound tumor removed from her spleen, they didn’t give her much hope but she was like a new puppy. She celebrated her 10th birthday and hopefully will make it to celebrate 11 in August. All the dogs are winners, please don’t disqualify Maty because of Freekibble, they are doing good work too!

  71. I am not affiliated with FreeKibble.com, but I go there daily to help shelter animals. It is a WONDERFUL organization started by a 12-year old girl who wanted to help shelter pets. Obviously a LOT of people visit this site, so a LOT of shelter dogs are being helped by them. They chose to use Maty in a trivia question today and I’m sure they meant no harm at all when they suggested voting for her. I would never have found this site if it hadn’t been suggested by FreeKibble.com.

Upon coming to the site, I spent hours here reading about each dog, viewing their photos and reading Geoff’s wonderful story about Scrap. Maty is absolutely adorable and would make a perfect Scrap. But I ended up voting for one of the dogs who had only a few votes because it looks like Maty is alreay going to be one of the favorites.

As author Geoff has said, this voting is only ONE way they are trying to narrow down to a shorter list of possible dog actors.

But it would be a horrible injustice to disqualify Maty simply because FreeKibble.com suggested her and directed so many people to this site. It’s not Maty’s fault if people just clicked on her name and didn’t bother to read and look at all the other wonderful dogs on here.

I just found Maty’s video – (click under “Videos”, Rocky has one on there, too and I imagine more videos will be coming). If you haven’t watched Maty’s video, please do. Just look into Maty’s eyes. Whether she gets the role of Scrap or not, this is one beaufiful, amazing dog! They are ALL wonderful dogs!

And as I said before, the very best way you can help dogs like these is GO to you local shelter and save a life! There are dogs like these everywhere just waiting for a person to love. In the USA alone approximately 4 MILLION dogs and cats are euthanized each year simply because there aren’t enough homes for them. That’s nearly EIGHT deaths per minute!

There are a lot of dog lovers coming to this site, (thanks to freekibble.com’s link). If you want to get worked up about something, put your energy into how you can help. Adopt if you can, Donate or Volunteer at a shelter, Urge everyone you know to adopt/rescue rather than buy pets, Spay & Neuter, Educate the public, Stand up against animal cruelty.

Together we CAN make a big difference for wonderful dogs like each of these amazing heros.

    Thanks! Bless you.

  72. I voted for John Doe…he is currently living in a rescue shelter! If anyone deserves to be in the glowing lights of hollywood, it’s definitely a dog that needs a home!!!!!! I also came to this site through freekibble.com It is an excellent site and I hope that all that read will sign up for the daily trivia and help out all the homeless dogs and cats that we can!!!!

    • I SO AGREE! Dogs who have forever families, are already stars in the eyes of their families. Poor little 3-legged dogs, sitting on a cement floor, looking through metal fencing as people walk by them, never even stopping to say hi, well, THOSE are the dogs that someone needs to make a star!

  73. MATY MAY U WIN THE PART IN THIS ROLE, YOU DESERVE THIS AND YOU ARE ONE SPECIAL DOG.

  74. Yes, Maty is being promoted on freekibble.com. I have been doing trivia questions on freekibble for a long time, and have a great deal of respect for this organization. So, when they suggest something, I usually check it out- and here I supported the dog they named (NO, they did not offer any additional kibble donations for it) because I want to do whatever I can for them to keep them providing services for dogs and cats who are forced by human circumstances to live in shelters. In selecting Maty- I am also highlighting freekibble. I regret that anyone has gotten a negative impression of this great organization, or thinks it’s unfair. Both my dogs are from shelters, and I am pleased freekibble helps out the millions of dogs I would love to adopt- but can’t. (Plus the trivia questions are fun- so it’s one of the best click to donate sites I have seen so far.)

Also- if the movie folks are reading this: personally, I think they should find a way to include as many of the prospective dog stars here as they can- in cameos or as a big group dog shot. They all deserve time in the spot light!! What a fantastic group! But, limelight or not, they- and their owners- are indeed stars.

    • I am reading thanks Laurie! At this stage the vote is just one of the tools in our selection process and I am very very pleased that so much free kibble will be donated to animal shelters because of it.

Unfortunately it’s very much a one (3-legged-dog) film. However the worldwide search is really catching on and as the competition continues we are going to give as many of these wonderful dogs as much time in the spot light as possible.

  75. all of them deserve it. because of freekibble.com maty will pronbally be most poplular. but all are euqual and just as cute.

  76. How do you get to see any of these dogs?

  77. I thik its not fair that somedogs only have 2 votes while maty hase over 4000! I say we shold make it fair! vote for susie, Colorado reily, allrira, mookie, ranger, Tripod, Lucky, Jazz, Trike, Trey, Fancy, Pixie, Reilly, Girl from Girl From Greese, Ysa, Tyler, Treagle, Torpedo, Symour, Sarah, Rudy, Redmon, Picabo, Misty, Milly, Mia, Max, Lexi, Layla, JohnDoe, Jelly Bean, Jake, Indy, Gypsy, Frankie, Forest, Flare, Dylan, Cotee, COLT!!, Charlie, Chewie, Buddy, Brilla, or Bella! I think you shouldn’t not choose a dog because you hate a person with the same name or because it’s a stupid name! Also don’t just choose Maty because freekibble told you to! Colt has my vote! anid I will also pick a different dog another day!

  78. This whole rigging the vote by bribing people to vote for Maty is appaulling. over 4000 votes overnight is a clear indication that the incentive behind voting for Maty is unfair. I demand that Maty be disqualified!!!!

    • Lol – I doesn’t seem right to disqualify a three-legged dog. I’m going to re-iterate that at this stage voting is just one way that we will be forming our first shortlist. Let’s not take this too seriously.

  79. I voted for Bradley because he’s one of the dogs that lives at a shelter. He needs fame and fortune so he can share it with his homeless friends.

  80. Vote for Bean!

Bean was at the humane society when we walked in. He had been hit by a car, and his previous owners hadn’t looked after his injuries. At 9 months he had already spent one month alone at the humane society. We brought him home and had his injured leg assessed by three different vets, who all said that (unfortunately) Bean’s fourth leg would have to come off. My boyfriend and I fundraised all of the funds needed to do the surgery, and we are so glad that we did because he’s doing so much better now. He completed training classes not so long ago, and the only thing he can’t do is shake a paw!

Go Bean go! We love you, fella!

  81. Oops, I was writing as that was being posted. :) Ignore that last comment then vv

  82. I didn’t see anything that said they would donate more kibble if Maty was picked. If they are, then it’s unfair, but all I saw was a trivia question, and a link to vote for Maty; no bribery..

  83. My first pug was a rescue from our local humane society. He was an awesome dog !

  84. Hello,

We placed Maty in a freekibble.com trivia question today because we love Maty and Know her very well and she’s truly a special dog. There are of course many special dogs on this page as well and we encourage people, once they get to the site to check them all out and vote accordingly. We think bringing awareness to this site benefits everyone and the kibble we donate to shelter dogs on freekibble.com is in no way related to, or dependent on voting for Maty. Thanks!

  85. offering to donate free kibble if a certain contender is picked is pretty much buying a vote. UNFAIR.

    • I will check this out. It should be noted however that the voting at this stage of the casting procedure is just ONE of the criteria that will be used in forming our first shortlist.

    • The free kibble is not ‘contingent’ upon voting for Maty, it was simply a trivia question to bring awareness to this site – so no, it’s not ‘buying a vote’ nor is it unfair. The kibble gets donated whether you answer the trivia question right or wrong.

  86. I was on Freekibble.com and was asked to vote for Maty. I wish there were pics of each of these sweethearts (but there’s not) so I decided to read the messages people left. At least I learned a little bit about some of these precious babies and that helped my decision. I wish all of these wonderful animals could have something great happen to them.

    • You can find the dogs’ photos under the links, “Help Find Scrap”. Most are under “Help Find Scrap – America”, but there are 4 dogs under New Zealand, 1 in Canada and 1 in Great Britian. Hope this helps.

I, too, found this site through “FreeKibble.com”, (which is a great site to help shelter animals). I was glad to be directed to this site, but I made up my own mind about which dog to vote for. Maty is wonderful, but I ended up voting for one of the “underdogs” who didn’t have very many votes.

  87. I have been on this site for a couple hours, reading about all these dogs and their stories. They are all so wonderful I can’t choose just one! I agree with Joyce, who said she thinks the role should go to a shelter dog. Or at least a former shelter dog. I would also like to see it go to a mixed-breed.

I’m sure many of you who come to this site are like me, torn between all these beautiful, loving dogs. Please kind people, don’t just vote….GO to your local animal shelter. Can you possibly adopt a homeless pet? If you can’t, please volunteer and help spread the word about the many wonderful companions animals waiting in shelters for a loving home. Urge everyone you know to spay and neuter their pets and stop the over-population of unwanted pets. Let’s all do everything we can to give loving dogs like these good homes and to stop animal cruelty.

Thank you! Bless each and every one of you. Together we CAN make a difference!

    Check out:
    http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/

You can help feed shelter animals (and contribute to other worthy causes) by simply clicking each day.

    • Great ideas Karen. If you work at a shelter let me know and we can place an ads on their website in case any wanabee Scraps come through. Even if they don’t get adopted we can help them find homes. Email me at help.find.scrap@gmail.com

  88. I HAVE A DOG NAMED MILLIE THAT IS DEALING WITH CANCER. I THINK MILLY SHOULD BE THE STAR.

  89. good luck maty

  90. Maty is a kind, gentle, well mannered dog. She is beautiful and just a great representative of the quality of dogs you can get from shelters, even the not so perfect looking ones. Maty does all the things that four legged dogs do and she even does them all better.

  91. Maty is a very special talented rescue dog. Please also vote for free kibble for dogs at: http://www.freekibble.com/

  92. Hi – I think something may be wrong with the vote counter. Checked status before voting, then after I voted… no change in the count. Is there a delay or something ? Does it check for the same IP address (didn’t shutdown between yesterday and today) and only count once ?

  93. i <3 maty!!!

  94. Go Mati!

  95. I think one of the shelter dogs, Jazz, Mo, Bradley, or John Doe should be given the opporuity to be the star that they can be. Shelter animals are so deserving and grateful for any and all love and would give back to the shelter they came from so more animals would benefit from their talents. Also it will make so many people aware of the wonderful loving and talented pets that are just waiting for a new home to shine in. They would be great ambassadors to bring much attention to the needs of shelter animals. As well as the wonderful return you get with any animal even a three legged one and how much they can enrich the lives of all they touch. God Bless all the animals.

    • Well said! (I voted for Bradley.)
As 101 Dalmatians & Marley & Me, etc., made those breeds so popular and lots of “extra” litters born, let’s hope this movie will make shelter and other rescue animals popular – which they so richly deserve!

  96. I was referred to this site by a “sponsorship” site and asked to vote for a specific dog that I knew nothing about. After reading these wonderful blogs I want to vote for all of them. My heart goes out to some of thees guys/gals. Maybe this film can somehow promote each of them throughout or at the end of the movie. When Taco Bell promoted the “talking” Chihuahua everyone had to have one. When Paris Hilton sported a “purse doggie”, everybody had to have one. Maybe this film will depict a new “three-legged hero” that everyone will have to have? God bless each of them and may our eyes be opened in a new way that animal abuse not be tolerated in and amongst our society. Please report abuse of any kind – Get involved – Stay involved!

  97. Go Maty!!! We’re behind you all the way!

  98. Make sure these sweet dogs have a least one vote to their name… vote Mookie, Jazz, Trike, Fancy, Sarah, Rudy, Layla or Dylan. You know you want to!! ;-)

  99. Its all about Chopper!!! Go little guy!!!! I love you!!

  100. Go Bradley

  101. go Chopper

  102. I can hear the theme song from the movie, “ROCKY” in my head now! GO ROCKY GO!!!!

  103. ROCKY IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  104. GO ROCKY GO!!!!!! He’s the best choice!!!!!

  105. Way to go Rocky!!!! U tha man! er… i mean dog

  106. miss you “tripod” ranbow… i miss n love you!! good luck in the big city!!

  107. Go Rocky! I think a boxer would be great for this part. they have so much personality. Best wishes Rocky.

  108. good luck rocky!!

  109. Berkley is PERFECT for this!

  110. Good-luck Maty!
l just love my 3 legged kitty Lilly! l am truly amazed how they get around and adapt to their lost leg…nothing stops her!!

  111. Go Rocky

  112. Maty has my vote!! :)

  113. Rocky is the champ, the unknown, the underdog, the canine who comes through in the pinch. He really knows how to dig down deep.

  114. GO GO GO ROCKY!!
    =]

  115. Rocky rocks!!!

  116. Rocky is by far the best dog for this job. I have no doubt you will see that, too–you guys are the experts!

  117. MATY ROCKS MY SOCKS

  118. I love Lucky, but if my 3 legged little girl was still here, she would definitely have my vote!

  119. Tripod is a rescue dog of sorts and has overcome the loss of his rear leg. He is a the sweetest dog and a fast runner. He forgets sometimes that he has a missing leg. VOTE FOR TRIPOD!!!!! Thanks

  120. BERKLEY OR BUST!!!!!!

  121. I vote for Jake and you should too!

  122. Rocky looks like a real character with a few stories to tell!

  123. CHOPPER ALL THE WAY

  124. Go Loki!!!

  125. Go Chopper!!!!

  126. Rocky’s gotta be the one! Look at that mug!!! You can see his personality from a stand still picture! I can only imagine how great he would be in a film!

    • ROCKY TOTALLY ROCKS—ONE O’CLOCK, TWO O’CLOCK three (get it?—three) O’CLOCK ROCK!

  127. Rocky is the dog you are looking for! He will be great in the role, and is such a love.

  128. Go Tallulah

  129. Bradley deserves a chance for a “happy ever after”!

  130. Rocky rocks!!!

  131. Vote for Tallulah. I have seen her in action. She is a hard little worker and a lot of fun.I was one of hte models at Air New Zealand Fashion Week and Tallulah attended every rehearsal and was a star in her own right !

  132. Bradley all the way! GO BRADLEY GO!! He deserves this

  133. too good to pass up. wjr

  134. My vote is for Maty……But I think all the dogs are just wonderful. Maty is a champion Frisbee dog. She can hold her own against four legged competitors and She is so beautiful she should be a movie star too.

  135. Buddy sure looks like the best dog!!

  136. Buddy has what it takes! He gets my vote!

  137. BUDDY RULES!!! TOTAL ROCK STAR (yet humble) :)

  138. Rocky is truly a lover! Don’t let that fool you though, he is tough as they come. Just look at that face and how can you help but not love this dog!

  139. All of these dogs are worthy — no question. I am just partial to MO because he was shot in the hind leg, then left injured and tied to a tree in front of PetSmart. I think it would be so nice to give MO a chance at celebrity after having such a rough start in life. But again, they are all winners and thanks to whoever put this together for such a good cause.

  140. Tallulah is a star! she has so much personality. Tallulah is more of an old soul than a ‘dog’ in fact she is so clever and talented its not right to put her in the category of a dog. In my opinion she is the best suited for the job.

  141. VOTE FOR TALLULAH! She might look pampered but she has moxie and is the bravest little pooch I know. At six months old she was run over by two old ladies in a Morris Minor and nearly died. Even though she was just a tiny little thing, her huge spirit and will to live pulled her through. She is so loyal and brave and has fitted more into her seven years than many humans will fit into their lives. She is blessed because she has a good home with parents who love her dearly. You might think that this would have turned her into a spoiled brat but she uses her time to make others feel good, even appearing a three legged model on the canine couture runway at a celebrity fashion show to raise money to train dogs for the blind. A vote for Tallulah is a vote for a little dog with a big heart.

  142. Go Rocky! This dog is truly amazing. He talks to you and actually cares about everyone. He is the best candidate!!!!

  143. oHHHH Tallulah looks a peach! Give the girl a go.

  144. I vote for Rocky!

  145. Go Rocky…a wonderful dog with character, great features and takes direction well! A star is born.

  146. Rocky Nuzzolilo is my 7 year old boxer who is the sweetest most lovable animal I’ve ever known. He is a talker and will “roo roo roo” you to tell you all about his day. He will curl up with you, put his head on your lap and take a nap. He will let you know that he has just placed his toy at your feet and for you to pretty please play with him! Please vote for Rocky Nuzzolilo. Everyone who meets him falls in love. Maybe someday, you’ll be lucky enough to meet him and you’ll know what I mean.

  147. GO CHOPPER GO!

  148. I was recruited by the Bradley group, but then I saw the beautiful little poodle named Picabo, and that precious little one has only 1 vote. My heart goes out to her, and I hope she finds a wonderful home soon, as well as all the othere who so desperately need a warm bed, good food, and a loving Mommy or Daddy to give them the love they so desperatey need.

  149. Go Bradley, Go! What a great DOG!!!

  150. Bradley, is quite a sweetheart. Good luck to you all. But I believe in my heart that Bradley deserves this so much. Hopefully this whole thing will get people to adopt our furry friends. Maybe this will finally get Bradley and the others the home they have needed.

    GO BRADLEY!

  151. I have to say that even though my dog CRICKET is listed here, that BRADLEY fellow looks like a real winner. So does CHOPPER. Wish we could all get’em togther for a TRI-PAWD party.

  152. I have seen Maty in action with her frisbee and in obedience
trial. She is very responsive and minds well. She would be very good at following directions and easy to work with.

  153. Bradley deserves this so much, he’s a fabulous dog. Go Bradley, go!!

  154. Go Rocky Nuzzolilo! You are perfect for the part and can woo any crowd with those deep soulful eyes! Humpf…

  155. Go Bradley Go!

  156. Bradley is already a star & deserves to become a movie star!

  157. Bradley strolled across my heart.

  158. Woo-Hoo, Bradley!!!

  159. MATY!!!! Here is her website to learn more about this amazing lovable pup. http://www.hsco.org/maty.html

  160. Although all of these dogs are wonderful you won’t go wrong by choosing Bradley! He has so much heart and his character will just shine through the screen.Plus if you choose him we have a huge group in Atlanta that will help with promotion of the movie. Bradley is your man!!

  161. When we started to foster Jemma, she was only 8 weeks old and had just had her hind right leg amputated. Her old owners in Texas took her to the vet claiming that she was mauled by the neighbor’s dog. The vet said that her wounds were inconsistent with the story and contained no bite marks, and that it was more likely that she had been left outside too long and tried to escape, getting her leg caught in a fence. Being neglected for so long, her leg got more and more torn up until there was no saving it.

Jemma is the sweetest dog in the world. Pictures do not do her justice. You have to meet her to truly see how adorable she is.

    Vote for Jemma!

  162. Chopper is one of the most spirited, happy, determined pups I’ve ever known–4-legged or 3-legged. He, occasionaly, stays at the kennel where I work and is always happy and jumping for joy–literally. When Chopper is around, there are experiences you can always count on–his huge smile, positive attitude, and his easygoing personality. His happy mood is absolutely contagious. We all love him.

  163. Go Bradley!

  164. I voted for Bradley
Its time for the world to see just what wonderful furkids are in the shelters all over and how many are dying cuz nobody realizes just how wonderful they are… Bradley has a chance to show the world just how great shelter furkids are.. Let him be the spokespuppy for all the homeless.. the voice for the voicless.. as stated in another reply.. let Bradley be the rags to riches story that will save many lives

    Go Bradley Go
    Go Bradely Go
    Go Bradley Go

Cindy (Mom) , Minnie, Maggie, Mandy, Muppet, Squeaky, Buddy, Baby Brat, Lacee Marie, Cody and Gizmo

  165. Bradley would be perfect for this part. He is a homeless dog so he knows how to play the part. He is a very loving dog too. Not only that, he is an adorable dog. His picture doesn’t even BEGIN to show how cute he is in real life. Please vote Bradley; he’s meant to play this part!!

    Vote Bradley!

  166. Vote Chopper!! x

  167. I have known Maty since she was a puppy and have seen her heart and determination. I was there when she lost her leg, and spent many years with her underfoot. She came from the shelter where I worked and belonged to one of my co-workers. She is a champion of three legged dogs and is so very smart. Maty is the PERFECT dog for this role. Vote for Maty the wonder dog!!!!

  168. Vote for Torpedo (a.k.a. Torpy)! Torpedo not only has 3 legs but is also deaf. (He’s willing to learn lots of sign commands for his acting debut.) He has been at the Humane Society of Western Montana (http://www.myhswm.org) for months, waiting for a forever-home. Torpedo hasn’t had the best luck in life. The folks who surrendered him to HSWM owned him for 6 years, but they couldn’t keep him due to a move and their smaller home. They adopted him from a shelter in which he was an unwanted, abused (supposedly set on fire) dog who was a deaf amputee with a burned-off tail (thus, his cute, fast-waggin’ nubbin’!).
Vote for Torpedo! Change his luck in life!

  169. JB!!! vote for him he’s the BEST! (jellybean)

  170. I vote for Gypsy! She is the best three-legged dog for the part!

  171. GO BRADLEY! Given he is in a homeless shelter in Atlanta, let’s turn this around to a “rags to riches” story for the little guy with a wonderful ending….I always go for the “underdog” (pun intended)! Love ya Bradley!

  172. Go Chopper!!! :)

  173. Go Chopper!!

  174. Bradley is such a wonderful boy!! This would be a great opportunity for a rescue like him who is still in need of a home!!

  175. Jake is an awesome dog. He lost his leg after being shot. The dog with him wasn’t so lucky and wasn’t seen again. PLEASE VOTE FOR JAKE

  176. true hero

  177. Chopper is an amazing dog, one look at him and you want to be his friend. Even after throwing him a ball for the 800th time I still want to play with him. And his owners are pretty awesome people too…

  178. Vote Bradley!

  179. Maty, Maty, Maty

  180. Please vote for Bradley. He is such a sweetheart, and is just not able to find a forever home. He’s spent a big part of his life in the shelter, and we hope he finally get’s a break. This could be the chance he has at finding a loving home and family. http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=10643831!
Follow this link to read his story and find out how easily he will capture the audience’s hearts. While all of these dogs are great, most of them most likely have a loving home, and while Bradley is widely loved by all the volunteers at Homeless Pets, it’s just not the same. good luck Bradley!

  181. I think that Buddy is a true inspiration to all.He doesnt let anything stop him.He is full of love and full of life.He is a truly amazing creature.Buddy is a great example to all on how to truly appreciate life and those around us.

  183. Matt, that’s a great idea – I also wish I knew more of the background on these dogs! I bet they all have great stories. Loki is my boy. Here is a link to his write-up from Northern Lights Sled Dog Rescue in Indianapolis, IN. (His rescue name was Enzo)

    http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=10304447

I’m obviously biased for my Loki, but what a great collection of dogs! Thanks again, Geoff, for organizing this!

    • Hi Cathy,

I am hoping at some stage to get bio’s attached to the site, to describe the stories of all these dogs. I think it’s a great idea too, so here’s hoping.

      G

  184. Bradley .. I’ve never seen a dog show so much of a human quality such as determination and stubborness to rehab on 3 legs. Started out rough going, but just got downright determined and finally succeeded on getting around nicely on 3 legs. Remarkable!

  185. Bradley is a great dog that just needs someone to give him a chance. Please pick Bradley!!

  186. Wow, what a great idea and opportunity for these dogs! I fostered a 3-legged dog from Homelesspets.com and I can attest to how special these dogs are. Having said that, BRADLEY would be an excellent choice. I wish I could see a bio for all the dogs. Here is the one for Bradley:
    http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=10643831

  187. Vote for Mia, she is a 3 legged rescue dog from the Cook Islands … and she is an absolute darling. She was abused at 6 months of age, so badly that she had to have her leg amputated. She is a really intelligent and loving girl that has been rehomed in New Zealand … you will love this girl

  188. Go Bradley!!

  189. Please vote for Loki and help Adopt A Husky rescue pets in need. Loki is a voice for finding great loving homes for rescued pets and pets needing rescue. This dog has a face for movies too! :)

  190. You go Bradley!! You deserve the stardom!!

  191. I worked with Bradley at homeless pets and he’s such a gem!

  192. Go Chopper Go!

  193. I love dog’s and there is no better dog than Buddy!!!!

  194. Jake is my buddy. When he was shot three times I knew he would pull out of it and become even more of a wonderful dog. Please vote for Jake~!!!

  195. Vote for Gypsey cutest dog ever……

  196. Gypsy is a rescue dog. She was five months old when she lost her leg after a hit and run. She’s the best thing to happen to my family. She doesn’t even know she’s missing a limb. She’s fun-loving, happy and playful. She is a member of our family and we love her dearly.

  197. VOTE FOR BUDDY!!!
    VOTE FOR BUDDY!!!
    VOTE FOR BUDDY!!!

  198. Three legged dogs teach us that disabilities are as minor as you make them, and should not stop you from being a happy dog with a great attitude, like Loki. And what a truly beautiful dog!

  199. Jake is so wonderful and such a trooper for pulling though being a stray and getting shot and surviving surgery. He pulled though so amazingly – he was meant for something big!!

  200. I think all of these 3 legged dogs are awesome. I know my Jake has been an inspiration to me throughout his recovery and I hope he can help others when he becomes certified for therapy work. He is also a rescue dog that has a rough past. His heart, courage and love of life has only strengthened with the loss of a limb! Vote for JAKE!

  201. I agree with everything written above about Jellybean. He’s the most loving dog and full of fun and energy, a real joy to take out for walks.

  202. Loki is a survivor and an inspiration to all of us. Vote for Loki!

  203. Jelly Bean has so much heart, you can see it pouring through in those beautiful brown eyes. He had a very rough start, surviving abuse which led to his leg amputation and then parvovirus, but you’d never know all the heartache this sweet boy endured by his lovely nature and fun loving personality. Vote for Jelly Bean!
