Good stories happen all the time…

2 Mar

There really should be no such thing as writers block…

I think it is impossible to go through a single day without hearing, seeing or imagining something that could provide you with the genesis of a great story. But until you look and listen you won’t find.

It’s important to look because great stories add real value and color to our sometimes rather dull working days. People are stories and the crazier the person in my experience the better the story.

Having said that,  people you might consider to be particularly uninteresting often harbor a great secret… fascinating. Or perhaps it is even more  fascinating when there is nothing particularly interesting about them at all.

Embrace the chaotic and the mundane people in your life today and listen (and imagine) the  stories they are trying to tell.

That is so awesome Iliana. The imagination is an amazing way to connect with the people around us. Just watching them and imagining where they have just been, or where they are going helps so much. It moves them from being a stranger in our minds to becoming a real person living right next to us.

Yesterday I was walking in Sao Paulo and looking at the street people who like to live on the street. And I was thinking what an existence is it…
Sometimes we are superficial and forget to observe the world around us, the people their actions, words and attitudes. If we stop and try to listen for a while we can hear their inner voices, their stories and let them write in our life story or make their story a good one. ´´Cos good stories happen all the time“
