True Wealth…

21 Mar

These are probably the words of a traveling artist with little material wealth… but I wonder if you can truly appreciate any form of wealth without sharing it?

Maybe you own a house with an incredible view of the ocean, you can stare at it all day and perhaps the view makes you feel incredibly rich and alive but how much more valuable is that view when you get to share it with someone else? I personally love to have great adventures in life, not so much for the adventures themselves but for the stories they provide me with, stories I get to SHARE, stories I get to TELL.

Is wisdom of value if it’s never passed on? Is a joke funny if it’s never told? Is a story great if it’s never heard? Is there value in money if it’s never shared?

So “true”. Sharing definitely increases the value.

To me wealth isn’t about how much money you have in your pocket, your bank account or how good the view from your house is (believe me I’ve just sold a brand new house with a totally stunning view). It’s about how happy you are in life, and what you give to other people…it’s about if you follow your dreams…or just someone who puts them on hold till “one day” when the timing’s right….(may never come)
We have just sold the gorgeous house with the gorgeous view (move out Friday)….I have just changed jobs so now get to spend way more time with our little girl….we have bought a “normal” house so life isn’t about a mortgage and work…..I think it’s a richer way to live…
Keep doing what you are doing….there might not be much in your pocket..but there is a lot in your dreams and your adventures and your story telling…and that makes you worth more than any amount of money…..

I heard the best reply to the question – why do you get married? ‘So that you have someone to witness your life and give it more meaning’. I’ve watched many amazing sunsets & the best ones are the ones that you can share with the person next to you and say – have a look at that!
