Sometimes it’s all about you…

6 Jan

I saw my homeless friend Ryan again today. When I asked him how much money he had, he proudly told me that he had a full 25 cents. I told him that he was “rich” but that I would give him some of my extra loose change.

So I started counting out my silver (I was actually thinking about how much lighter my wallet would be), when it struck me that I was giving him my dregs, the worst of what I have. Although I was helping my friend I was not being generous because I was only giving him what I didn’t want.
