Flying down the back straight

11 Jan

I don’t know a lot about motor racing, but I am pretty sure the fastest way around a circuit is to drive in straight lines and brake as late as you possibly can. Sometimes it must be tempting to really slow down as you prepare for a corner. The trouble with slowing down is that you lose momentum and it takes a lot of time to speed up again.

As I prepare to travel I think of my impending move as a corner, it sure is tempting to slow right down three or four days before the trip, but the trouble is it will then take me three or four days to speed up after landing. I am learning to fly down the back straight and brake as late as possible, take a wide corner and get the foot back on the gas. Momentum is everything.

What do you think?
