Keep Good Secrets

8 Jul

What is it that makes one person so fascinating and yet another person rather dull? If someone is interesting that means there is something about them that you would really desire to know; something that is unknown… a secret. This “mysterious” quality is something that screen legends have learnt to foster and weave into the creation of their characters for years. Meryl Streep for example, often creates a secret, there is something about her character that no one else knows.

We live in a time of openness, an absence of privacy where rather ironically people like me write blogs and spill their guts for the whole world to read. Eventually if we keep going we may lose the whole point of intimacy and become “all knowing” about everyone and yet paradoxically we may also become the loneliest people who ever walked on this planet.

A secret is gold in a world that is becoming devoid of secrets, it is a holy place which bestows much dignity upon its holder, and it gives great reward to those “chosen few” with whom it is revealed.

Sometimes the secret may just be what you are… Nothing you decided, nothing you control, nothing you can really tell.. I believe we cannot decide for our own mystery.. This is what makes it so magic… Geoff, wish you a nice and cool week-end. Weather was so hot here for the past two days, I felt living in a barbecue.. Soon climbing with.. you know my secret in the mountain 😉 Take care.
