So I have been on this film-making journey for a while now and I am pretty used to getting knocked down. It always hurts and sometimes I close my eyes for quite some time before I think about getting back up.
After a while getting knocked down becomes a rather normal and natural part of life; it is to be expected if you are fighting to achieve anything.
You have to be both realistic and optimistic at the same time… yes the rejection hurts, but anyone who has ever achieved anything substantial experienced exactly what you are going through. The only way to avoid getting knocked down is to stay down; and that isn’t really an option.
But if you’ve taken a seriously blow, stay down for a while, use up your full eight seconds, then gather your strength, rise to your feet and lift up your hands. Box on.
